Miss.Jennifer Gardner
First, I would like to tell you a little about myself! I was born and raised right here in Arkansas, and I am a Razorback fan! I went to college at the University of Central Arkansas where I studied Kinesiology and Physical Education, I recieved a BSE in May 2006. I then began working at Western Hills Elementary in Little Rock School District. I had a wonderful four years there, where I started the SNAP Ed nutrition program, implemented the SPARK curriculum, teamed up with The First Tee of Little Rock where our students recieved lessons with the golf instructors, and was voted PTA Teacher of the year 2009-2010. I look forward to all of the great things to come at Don Roberts Elementary!
Welcome to Miss.Gardner's PE class! I am so excited about teaching at Don Roberts elementary and thrilled to meet all of the students and parents! I am dedicating this page to parents and students in my classes. I will post lessons and any reminders that are needed. I am looking forward to a great year. If you have any questions or comments you can blog or contact me by email or phone.

Walk Across America 2011-2012
This year my 2nd through 5th grade students will be Walking Across America! My goal as a physical educator is for my students to understand how to be healthy and active for a lifetime! Walk Across America allows students to log their miles or activity time for activity at school, home, or any place they are getting exercise. It is also a great geography tool in that students will be able to see on the map what city and state they are going to and how long it will talk them to get there. It can be fun for families to do this together and you can help your child log their miles on the computer. And your child doesn't just have to walk, students can, run, ride a bike, play a sport, or anything that keeps their heart pumping! Just help your child figure out about how many miles that would equal to, and log it in on the computer.
I will be able to keep track of all of my students miles, and they will be rewarded as individuals and as a class for getting those miles in! I will be sending more information home to you throughout the year so please keep and eye out for news letters, etc. And of course if you have questions let me know!
